Summary: Creates, designs, tests and oversees the development of new electrical controls systems and troubleshoots and maintains existing electrical controls systems.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for small to medium projects or multiple tasks within functional discipline
- Makes significant contribution to their team by applying their knowledge of the discipline
- Works with moderate guidance and team collaboration on projects with short to medium-term focus
- Must be able to change focus between projects as required by the current needs of the company
- Has a solid understanding of the fundamentals of the discipline and role—continuing to develop specialized knowledge
- Works with PLCs, industrial computers, HMIs, drives, etc. to program new and troubleshoot existing controls systems from a variety of manufacturers and integrators
- Integrates components of controls systems with each other and with other controls systems
- Prepare and study technical drawings, specifications of electrical systems to ensure that installation and operations conform to standards and customer requirements
- Prepare specifications for purchase of materials and equipment
- Operates computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks
- Uses standard electrician’s tools to build new and troubleshoot existing controls systems

Education and Experience:
- BA/BS degree w/2–5+ years’ experience or MA/MS degree w/0–2+ years’ experience
