Summary:
Lead responsibility for developing, testing and implementing solutions to solve technical problems in manufacturing and maintenance. Assists engineers, conducts tests, collects data, trains other employees and leads, manages and assists with administrative tasks for other employees. Assigns, schedules, monitors, and checks the work of other employees.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Under minimal supervision, performs substantially varied and complex tasks.
- Applies advanced skills to perform functions of the position within assigned area.
- Adapts new procedures, techniques, tools, materials and/or equipment to meet the more complex requirements of the position.
- Relies on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish assigned tasks and goals.
- Serves as a resource to others in the resolution of complex problems and issues, and refers only the most complex issues to higher levels.
- Orients, trains, assigns and checks the work of other employees.
- Use computer equipment, including reference materials and operating manuals, to manipulate data bases, update files and produce reports or designs.
- Record test procedures and results, numerical and graphical data, and recommendations for changes in products, processes or test methods that are applicable to their areas of responsibility.
- May uses Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CAD) systems to develop solutions.
- Assists electrical, mechanical and/or manufacturing engineers.
- Troubleshoots, inspect & repairs operations machinery.
- Performs administrative duties related to use and upkeep of maintenance software solutions.
- Performs preventative maintenance on production machines per a schedule.
- Maintains accurate records for all machinery that require a preventative maintenance (PM) schedule and or require an unscheduled repair.
- Informs management of any undesirable maintenance trends such as frequent machine repairs.
- Documents PM Methodology for each machine by event. i.e. weekly, monthly, quarterly, yearly.
- Works with Management on rescheduling maintenance as necessary.
- Consults with machine operators to resolve machine problems.
- Understands and adheres to the company quality standards.
- Performs Supervisor’s/Manager’s duties in their absences.

- Has advanced and specialized expertise, typically developed through a combination of job-related training and considerable on-the-job experience.
- Completes assignments and facilitates the work activities of others; may coordinate work beyond own area.
- Proposes improvements to processes.
- Acts as a lead, coordinating the work of others but is not a supervisor.
- Works autonomously within established procedures and practices.
Education & Experience Qualifications
- High School w/6+ years relevant experience or AA/AS/Technical School w/3-6 years relevant experience.
Physical Demands & Abilities
- Able to lift up to 35 pounds.
- Position will require sitting, walking, or standing for at least 40 hours per week.
- Regularly performs repetitive task.
- Able to stand for entire shift.
- Overtime as required.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with co-workers, supervisors, and third parties. This ability to communicate requires the employee to be conversant in English as most of our workforce and the third parties that we encounter only speak English.
