Maintenance Machine Mechanic

Schedule: Monday – Friday 7am – 3:30pm [may be adjusted by manager at a moment’s notice]

Summary: Performs Maintenance and repairs machines

Duties and responsibilities:

 Under minimal supervision, maintains Jlg’s, air compressors and machines around the facilities.
 Makes sure all Jlg’s are serviced, inspected and all paperwork is filled out.
 Adapts to new procedures, techniques, tools, material and or equipment to meet the more complex requirements of the position
 Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish assigned tasks and goals
 Repairs machinery in the facilities.
 Maintains the chairs throughout the facilities.
 Knowledge of Whelen procedures policies
 Run the equipment that you are qualified on with care.
 Ability to work under pressure and to meet multiple deadlines while maintaining a cooperative, working relationship with employees and supervisor
 Check all forklifts for problems and repairs needed.
 Be able to change propane tanks on the forklift.
 Work with the Jira system.
 Fill sanitizing bottles.
 Check all safety glass stations.
 Work on Gators and repair.
 Inspect and repair floor machines. Keep inventory of part for equipment.
 Find parts that are needed for repairs so they can be ordered.
 Build red racking and attach to floor.
 Do OSHA inspections on man lifts every 3 months.
 Inspect all battery-operated equipment.
 Maintain records on all equipment
 Inspect and service nitrogen generator every 40 hours of run time and change filter as needed.


 Has advanced and specialized expertise, typically developed through a combination of job-related training and considerable on-the-job experience
 Completes assignments daily.
 Proposes improvements to processes
 Works autonomously within established procedures and practices

Education and Experience: High School w/5+ years’ experience.

Physical demands and abilities:

 Able to lift 35 pounds
 Regularly performs repetitive tasks
 Able to stand for entire shift

Must be able to communicate effectively with co-workers, supervisors, and third parties. This ability to communicate requires the employee to be conversant in English as the majority of our workforce and the third parties that we encounter only speak English.
