Whelen Engineering Showcases Several New Products at IACP 2019

Chicago, Illinois, October 27, 2019 –Whelen Engineering is showcasing several new products this week at the IACP in Chicago, Illinois.

Whelen’s newest innovations are redefining officer safety with the most advanced technology and customization options.

CenCom Core™ powered by WeCanX™: CenCom Core is a completely redesigned, breakthrough control system, which is powered by WeCanX™, the smartest and most powerful CAN-based communication system in the industry today. CenCom Core is a system created to enhance officer safety with advanced automation and remote connectivity.

“We designed CenCom Core for fleets who require advanced performance, expansion, and configurability,” said George W Whelen V, Whelen’s president and CEO.

Dynamic Variable Intensity Patterns: With CenCom Core, officers can utilize DVI™ patterns, an innovative series of flash patterns designed to help create an advanced level of safety at nighttime emergency scenes by gradually increasing and decreasing warning light intensity. DVI patterns help better convey visual information to approaching motorists, clearly indicating when an emergency vehicle is parked and improving their ability to navigate around an emergency scene safely.

Arges™ Remote Spotlight: Designed from the ground up and packed with Whelen’s most innovative technology, Arges marks a major change in remote spotlight design. Arges has a small footprint which, when combined with Whelen vehicle specific mounts, can help create zero blind spots while driving. Argus installs quickly and requires no A-pillar drilling or airbag interference. Its all-new collision-safe control head eliminates the need for an internal handle. Arges features revolutionary control, with 360° of continuous rotation and a 180° tilt range.

“Arges is a huge step forward for officer safety and lighthead technology,” said Greg Scott, Whelen’s Vice President of Sales. “There has never been a remote spotlight anything like Arges.”

The Whelen Cloud Platform™: The Whelen Cloud Platform delivers a multitude of capabilities for fleet management and safety. Using the Vehicle Safety Gateway™ (VSG™), it bridges connectivity into next-generation analytics and software and firmware updates, all while helping first responders make life-saving decisions through telemetric and GPS-based data.

“The Whelen Cloud Platform introduces powerful new features to fleet managers,” said George W Whelen V, Whelen’s president and CEO. “Firmware and vehicle configurations can be pushed to multiple vehicles instantly, the live map provides real-time information and analytics, and syncing vehicle lights and tones has never been easier.”For more information on these products, visit IACP Whelen Booth #4123 or go to whelen.com/iacp2019.
