Traffic Preemption
The Whelen Cloud Platform® has now integrated with GTT’s Opticom™ Cloud Emergency Vehicle Preemption (EVP) Solution. Opticom mitigates risk and expedites emergency response time by clearing intersections and giving officers the green light to respond to emergencies safely. Opticom has reduced intersection crash rates by up to 70% while enabling officers to arrive up to 25% faster.
Digital Alerts
With WCP®, you’ll get access to new features as soon as they’re available like Digital Alerts. Digital Alerts work through Whelen’s Vehicle Safety Gateway® and HAAS Alert’s Safety Cloud® to warn drivers about upcoming roadway hazards in real-time. Emergency responder vehicles can deliver Digital Alerts to notify approaching motorists that they’re up ahead, giving drivers more time to slow down and safely navigate emergency scenes. Safety Cloud digital alerts are sent through navigation apps and vehicle infotainment systems up to 30 seconds in advance, reducing the risk of collision by up to 90% and making roadways safer for motorists and first responders.
Responder-to-Responder (R2R™)
Alerts feature prevents collisions between public safety fleets by notifying police, Fire, and EMS vehicles when other emergency vehicles in active-response mode are approaching the same intersection. WCP customers can choose how they’d like to alert the driver when an R2R™ signal is received through their Core™ control system.
Geofence Controlled Tech
Use geographic boundaries to trigger automated functions that help keep first responders and motorists safe, like changing a vehicle’s flash patterns when entering a work zone or reducing siren tone intensity when in a school zone. Fleet managers can configure lighting and tones to change automatically when a vehicle approaches a particular location. Geofencing is highly customizable and can be toggled on and off as needed.
Vehicle Telematics (Coming Soon!)
Telematics takes the guesswork out of fleet maintenance and lets fleet managers easily keep track of important vehicle information. Features include odometer and engine hours tracking and automatic Check Engine Light alerting with a report on the triggering code. And the automatic scheduling of fleet maintenance for things like oil changes, tire rotations, tune-ups, and more.
