With over 33 years of experience in software development and IT management, Don Bardinelli brings deep technical expertise and a passion for innovation to his role as Vice President of Information Technology at Whelen Engineering. Since joining the company more than a decade ago as a software engineer, Don has played a key role in strengthening Whelen’s IT infrastructure and leading initiatives that enhance connectivity, reliability, and security across all operations.
A graduate of Norwalk State Technical College with a degree in Computer Systems, Don was inducted into both the Tau Alpha Pi and Phi Theta Kappa honor societies and was named to the National Dean’s List. His lifelong fascination with technology began early - building and upgrading computers at age 14 - and has continued to drive his career.
Known for his ability to demystify complex technology and communicate it in a way that’s clear and accessible, Don is a collaborative leader dedicated to leveraging data and technology to enhance efficiency, innovation, and decision-making companywide. Motivated by Whelen’s mission to protect first responders, he finds purpose in using technology to make their jobs safer and easier.
Outside of work, he enjoys 3D printing, laser engraving, sublimation, and PC gaming.
